A State Of Flo’s first release is finally here! Exploring the fantastical sounds of fungi, it features four bioelectrical pieces by Brian d’Souza in collaboration with four types of fungi. On the flip, revered Irish DJ/Artist Or:la shows her ambient credentials with a beautiful long form composition, made in collaboration with Irish harpist Róisín Berkeley.

The original artwork was made by the award-winning artist Jananicole, who’s work incorporates invisible ink, which will change colour in black/UV light (watch the video to see!) and scratch n sniff scent, which produces the smells of the forest.

You can order the limited edition red vinyl 12” record from our Bandcamp now. It’s also available at all good record stores. The only digital/streaming copies will be available on Bandcamp, we’ve decided against making this available on streaming platforms such as Spotify and YouTube.

MUSHROOM MUSIC LAUNCH PARTY

We celebrate the launch of A State Of Flo tonight at EartH Theatre in London. The event has grown in a mycelium like fashion since we announced it three months ago. We’ve added two amazing panels, discussing nature and fungi featuring the likes of Earth Percent, Zero Hour UK, Lawyer's For Nature, All Things Fungi, Fat Fox Mushrooms and more. We’re going to have award-winning author Charlie Gilmour reading a ‘Mushroom Horror’ and man of the moment Sam Lee will be performing live too.

Then, we’ll have two biosonification sets by Brian d’Souza and Natural Symphony, in collaboration with a variety of fungi and plants, complemented by a ambient listening DJ set from Dr Michelle (Ulor).

If that wasn’t enough, we’ll be moving from the theatre to the club space, for a psychedelic inspired after party, featuring Museum of Consciousness’s DJ Inter-being (Carl Hayden-Smith), Dr Michelle, United Freedom Collective and myself with my Auntie Flo hat on.
